Fiancetto Description
In the glass, this luscious Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is almost black, with an inky, glass-staining color that is saturated to the edge. The nose unfurls with ripe black currants, black cherries, rhubarb compote, and ground nutmeg alternating with warmed damson plum preserves, sweet licorice, and a fleeting suggestion of pine needles as the wine evolves over time. On the palate, the wine is rich, sapid, and expansive, with massive concentration laced with Aiken loam minerality, and a voluptuous core of crème de cassis seasoned with fresh white tobacco and baking spices, all framed in supple, velvety ripe tannins. This is a purebred classic to drink now (if you must), for the unabashed hedonism of its luscious primary fruit, or to keep for a decade or longer in a cool, dark cellar.
