93 Points James Suckling
A berry and cherry red with brightness and elegance. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and a long, linear finish. Blackcurrants and chocolate. Some pine cone, too. Lots of finesse and savoriness.
Producer Notes
Sourced from prime sites in Alexander Valley and Moon Mountain District, this garnet colored cabernet sauvignon beautifully encapsulates the breadth of Sonoma County with aromas of forest fruits, dark chocolate shavings, and a hint of dried herbs. Plush red fruits burst on the palate with a touch of cassis, supported by fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity, and a lingering finish.
Blend: 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc
Delivers a nicely energetic and enticing beam of crushed plum and boysenberry fruit that sparkles with anise and sweet spice notes. This is toasty on the finish, but the fruit wins out easily.
Crossbarn's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County delivers waves of cherries, raspberries, mocha and baking spices on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied, approachable and easy-drinking without being soft, and it adds an attractive, thyme-like element on the finish. It's a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, a combination of purchased fruit from Moon Mountain and estate fruit from Alexander Valley.
