Clos Julien Description
To my recollection, this is the first ever Clos Julien Cabernet Sauvignon that we’ve ever done. I really wish they had something like this every year – it’s absolutely fantastic. After tasting it, I took every bottle I could – but I also make one thing clear to the CJ team – they need to be making more Cabernet!
It immediately draws you in with seductive cherry and blackberry aromas with a hint of baking spice. It’s vibrant right out of the gates on the mouthfeel with notes of blue and black fruits, licorice, chocolate and even a hint of tobacco – aided by chewy but fine tannins, great acidity and a lot of synergy in the glass. There’s so much to like already and yet this is only still an infant.
