Pierre Ferrand Description
Aged in old casks, Ambre has little tannin. Its color is golden, with a light and delicate nose. Aromas of flowers, oranges and a hint of vanilla highlight this Cognac. Pierre Ferrand is one of the few grower prducers of Cognac! He grows his own grapes! He only uses the Heart of the second distilation & forgoes the traditional terms like VS, VSOP & XO. By law VS has to be at least 2 years old. VSOP has to be 4 years old and XO has to be 10 years old. Ambre is average age of 10 years old! Pierre Ferrand doesn't use tricks as some others do, such as adding burnt caramel to darken the product or pouring it through toasted Oak sawdust to enhance flavors!
