94 Points Jeb Dunnuck
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru St. Helena (94% Cabernet Sauvignon along with tiny portions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot) has the vintage s purity and freshness, with beautiful and classic darker currant fruits as well as notes of scorched earth, graphite, spicy oak, and some undeniable minerality. It's medium to full-bodied, has ripe, integrated tannins, and a great finish.
90 Points Vinous
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon CRU (Napa Valley) is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Rich, succulent and inviting, the 2021 offers tons of immediacy and plenty of appeal. Juicy dark cherry, leather, tobacco, spice and chocolate are nicely amplified. Most of this fruit is from vineyards in St. Helena.
Producer Notes
The 2021 CRU Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon holds nothing back upon opening. Grilled meat, cocoa and Bing cherry perfume a beautifully expressive nose. Pulling from multiple vineyards throughout Napa Valley, this wine truly encompasses the incredible diversity that our valley has to offer. Firm tannins and structure house notes of cassis, plums, black peppercorns and fresh tobacco leaf. The wine finishes with a long, weighty finish that never loses its focus and remains pure throughout.
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Petite Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec
The delicious 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru is a terrific introduction to the Vineyard 29 style, plus it's reasonably priced and should be at least somewhat available, as 4,600 cases were produced. Black cherries, cassis and dusty earth notes mark the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is smooth, velvety and supple. It even adds hints of chocolate cake and black olives on the finish, each balancing out the other and providing additional complexity. - JC
